For golf enthusiasts, there are several golf courses in east of Las Vegas,
such as the Royal Links Golf Club, Black Mountain Golf & Country Club, Desert Rose
and Stallion Mountain Country Club and South Shore at Lake Las Vegas Resort,
Desert Pines Golf, Shadow Creek, and Sunrise Vista at Nellis AFB.
Royal Links Golf Club was voted as one of 1999 "Top 10 you can play." The Dye Designs International, designed each course in honor of the British Open such as the Royal Troon,
St. Andrew's, Pretwick, Carnoustie, Turnberry, Royal Liverpool, and many others.
Black Mountain Golf has hosted the USGA Regulation Tournament, and the Las Vegas Invitational.
Desert Rose, originally the Winterwood Golf Course, hosts the yearly Clark County
Amateur Championship in November.
The golf course was designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee.
Stallion Mountain Country Club is currently owned by Bill Waters, who also owns the
Royal Links and the Desert Pines.
The Stallion Mountain features three separate golf courses-The Citation, Man O'War
and The Secretariat. It is the only 54-hole in Las Vegas. The Citation and Man O'War
golf courses were designed by Cary Bricker and Jim Colbert.
The Secretariat was designed by Jeff Brauer and Jim Colbert.
South Shore at Lake Las Vegas Resort features two Jack Nichhaus golf course
and Nada's largest private man made lake.
South Shore hosted the 1996 and 1997 Wendy's Three-Tour Challenge.
There are a total of 4 planned golf courses.
Desert Pines Golf Course was designed bythe son of Pete Dye, Perry Dye.
Shadow Creek is an exclusive and elite course in Las Vegas that is owned by
the Mirage Resorts.The golf course was designed by Tom Fazio.
Sunrise Vista Golf Course is typically for active and retired military.
Las Vegas features Sam Boyd Stadium and Lake Las Vegas.
Just a few miles away is Lake Mead National Park.
